John S. Rabi
Chief Executive Officer
John S. Rabi was born in Budapest, Hungary, and worked in various management positions for the South Buda Hospitality Corporation until 1980. He escaped from what he always refers to as “The Communist Paradise” and defected to the USA in 1980. He is a seasoned business professional with broad operational experience and an award winning track record of performance. He has a strong background in all facets of corporate operations, with unique training and experience as Corporate Quality Leader using Process Improvement techniques.
He worked in an executive position for the Penn Central Corporation in New York City, NY, and after the company moved its headquarters, in Greenwich, CT. After the takeover of the company in 1986, he worked in executive position for Cosmair Inc. in New York City, NY. He moved to Hawaii in 1991 and became the Director of Food & Beverage of two resorts, respectively.
He left the hospitality industry in 1993, and after completing his post-graduate studies in the real estate business management field, he worked for Prudential West Hawaii Realty and Realty Executives Kona, respectively, for four years as General Manager & Principal Broker. John holds numerous designations and credentials, including the prestigious, coveted, ad highly sought-after designation of CRB (Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager), which in the industry is known as the Ph.D. in real estate business management.
John S. Rabi founded Typically Tropical in 1993, and was its General Manager & Principal Broker until he sold the company. He became the Chief Executive Officer of the Typically Tropical Enterprise Group LLC in 2007, and has held that position ever since. He has built a classy organization, and it is clear he is a tremendous leader and person.
